Update for the beats of Bingham, Manvers, Trent, Cranmer and Thoroton

Following the priority setting meeting in November 2011 the local community chose drink driving for the police to focus on for the next period.

The entire area was to be patrolled, with particular attention to an vehicle seen driving erratically and responding to any calls regarding vehicles acting in that manner, as well as local licensed premises being visited to impart the drink drive message.

During the Christmas period we targeted Drink drivers with the cooperation of local licensed premises who were visited by SNT and agreed to take note and advise us of potential drink drivers. We were also assisted by the public who through crimestoppers and the Control room informed us of members of the public that they believed to be involved in drink driving. Several arrests were made as a result of this information and we would like to thank you for your continued support in this matter.

It is important that you continue to keep us informed if you suspect someone of committing this offence, as by doing so you could be potentially saving someone's life.
