suspicious incident at school

Dear Residents

There have been reports over the last couple of days 20/02/2012 and the 21/02/2012 of a suspicious incident that has occurred involving a white van which is being driven by a white male, he is described as middle aged unshaven with dark untidy hair in a pony tail wearing a black jacket.

This male has been seen driving around near to schools during the hours of 08.40 hours and 15.40 hours when pupils are walking to and from school, He has not spoken to any pupils so far but it has been reported he has followed them in his van for a short period at a slow speed it is also reported that he may have a dog with him the breed at this time is unknown.

We are working closely with the schools and the schools officer with regards to these reports and have also increased high visibility patrols during school times.
 
Could I ask that all parents make their children aware of this when walking to and from school and to report anything they think as suspicious by ringing us on the usual numbers
